Rev. Annie L. Alford
A minister of the Gospel of Jesus for over 70 years, she went to her rest at 9 AM on Sunday, February 23, 2014, at her home with family. She was 92 years of age, and a resident of Pelahatchie, MS.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 from 5 PM until 9 PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 from 9 AM until 9:50 AM at the First Apostolic Church of Pelahatchie in Pelahatchie, MS. Funeral Services will follow at 10 AM at the church. Burial will be in the Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, MS. at 1 PM. Wolf Funeral Services of Morton, MS is handling arrangements.
Her life consisted of serving as Co-Pastor for the four churches pastured by her Husband. She is a well known author of 9 religious books that she self published.
Sister Alford, as she was known is survived by 4 sons and daughters-in-law; Ovead and Charlotte Alford, of Sumter, SC; Fred and Liz Alford, of Byram, MS; Garry and Cynthia Alford, of Boliver, TN; David and Denise Alford of Galvez, LA. Six Daughters and 5 sons-in-law; Gwendolyn and A.J. NIckens of Galvez, LA; Marita and Arthur Phillips of Thaxton,MS; Deborah Alford of Pelahatchie, MS; Rhoda and Rev. Alan Spence of Opelousas, LA; Angela and Randy May of Wichita, KS; Joyce and David Neal of Pelahatchie, MS; 27 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren, and 2 great-great-great grandchildren and innumerable amount of children of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband the Rev. H.O. Alford Sr.. They had been married for 57 years at the time of his death in 1996. Together they provided a wonderful Heritage for their 11 children.
She was preceded in death by a son, Rev. Sidney Alford and a granddaughter Adina Alford, also by her parents Issac and Angie Whatley, 1 brother, Issac Whatley, Jr., 3 sisters, Aletha Tarver, Pearl Ganey and Bernice Whatley.
