Janis Wooten

July 26, 1957 — February 2, 2017

"Life is tough my darling, but so are you." -M.A.

February 2nd 2017, our beloved Mrs. Claus was called to Heaven after a fearless battle with pancreatic cancer.

Janis Warren Wooten spent her fifty-nine years of life fiercely loving and inspiring all that knew her. Master Fisherwoman. Dirt Track Enthusiast. Lake Hornet Numero Uno. Dirt Cheap Specialist. Culinary Extraordinaire. Her hats are too numerous to list.

Today she is reunited beyond the pearly gates with her parents, Lonnie and Laverne Warren, her brother, Freddie Warren, and a host of friends and loved ones. Oh the fishing stories that are being told!

Left to carry on her legacy of charity and kindness is her beloved husband of thirty years, Jerry of Lake, MS; her babies, Jeri Leigh Vaughan and husband Jeremy of Demopolis, AL, and Sam Wooten of Lake, MS; her siblings, Charlene Crawford and husband John of Memphis, TN, and Richard Warren also of Memphis, TN.

Janis loved life and all those she shared it with. A mother to all and a boss to many, her mark on the Lake community will never be forgotten.
