R.L. Ficklin

Mr. Robert Lee Ficklin was born on February 3, 1938 in Morton, Ms to the late R.C. Ficklin and Ora Lee King Ficklin.

He attended Bettye Mae Jack High School in Morton, Ms and was employed by Farris Lumber Co. for 25 years. He later worked at Don Davis Chevrolet Co. and Lakeland Tractor Co. Of Pelahatchie, MS until his death.

R.L married Christine Matheny in 1957 and with this union 5 children were born. 1 son, Eltorry Ficklin of Canton, MS, 4 Daughters Karen (Teddy) Bloodsaw of Forest,MS, Nikita (Jerrell) Chambers of Brandon, MS, Shenell (Johnny) Pace of Morton, MS, and Teresa Ficklin of Morton, MS.

Our dad was a simple man with simple pleasures, he was rich in life because he was rich in love for his family. He was preceded in death by brothers R.C. , Excell, Albert, and Rev. Jack Ficklin. Two sisters Alberta Moore and Margaret McBride.

He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, his children, a brother Johnny H. Ficklin and a sister Evette Scott of Las Vegas, Nevada. He leaves 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, brother- in laws, sister-in-laws and friends.
