Willis Goldsby

March 22, 1929 — December 22, 2015

Willis (Big Daddy) Goldsby, 86, went to be with the Lord on December 22, 2015. Visitation was held on December 26, 2015 from 9:00 AM until 10:50 AM at the First Baptist Church of Morton, MS. Funeral services were held on December 26, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Morton, MS. Officiating was Bro. Earl Clark and Bro. Jason Westmoreland.

Willis was loved by all who knew him. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend who will be missed dearly. Willis was born and raised in Mansfield, Louisiana and went to college at Northwestern Louisiana University in Natchitoches, LA. He then served our country in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. While in the service Willis met his soul mate, Ella Louise Flanagan. They were married on December 28, 1952. He was a man of faith who served our Lord as a deacon at First Baptist Church, Morton for many years. He loved his family, telling stories from the past, playing cards with friends and family (although he didn't like to lose), and anything pertaining to cowboys (horses, cowboy boots, horse sales, etc.). He loved playing cards, taking care of horses, and drinking coffee with friends at the VFW.

Big Daddy was preceded in death by his parents Hayden and Alva Goldsby of Mansfield, LA. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Ella Louise Goldsby; daughters Linda Goldsby of Tupelo, MS, Cindy Craig of Morton, MS, Susan McConnell (Mark) of Brandon, MS, Jennifer Stingley (Randy Joe) of Morton, MS; grandsons Michael Craig (Brooke) of Morton, MS, Chance Craig (Tyan) of Brownsboro, TX; granddaughter Sydney McConnell of Brandon, MS; great grandchildren Hayden, Mikey, Ethan and Tatum. He especially loved and would do anything for his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
