Gerald Greer

Mr. Gerald Ray Greer, age 75, passed away on Saturday September 10, 2016 at his residence in Morton, MS. Visitation will be held on Monday September 12, 2016 from 5:00PM until 8:00PM and again on Tuesday September 13, 2016 from 9:00AM until 9:50AM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday September 13, 2016 at 10:00AM at the Wolf Funeral Services Chapel in Morton, MS. Burial will follow in the Independence Methodist Cemetery in Morton, MS. Officiating will be Rev. Gary Glazier. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Greer had lived in Morton, MS since 1974, where he moved from Clinton, KY. He attended Morton United Methodist Church. He was also a Mason, Shriner, a member of the American Quarter Horse Association, the National Cutting Horse Association, the National Rifle Association, and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation. Mr. Greer served his country in the United States Army and the National Guard. He was a Kentucky State Trooper for a number of years prior to moving to Morton, MS, then served the citizens of Scott County as a deputy for fifteen years after several years in private business.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Waymon C. Greer and Mary Maepell Greer. He is survived by his children, Allyson Rhea Greer-Hawkins (James R. Hawkins, Jr.) of Morton, MS, Jason Reed Greer (Tiffany) of Hernando, MS, Amy C. Savoie (Buddy) of New Orleans, LA, and Chad H. Greer (Krista) of Tuscan, AZ; one sister, Dorothy Carol Brown (David) of Decatur, IL; seven grandchildren, one great grandchild, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Mike Lang, Larry Smith, Steven Crotwell, Roger Thompson, Larry Bush, Billy Cade, and Charlie Sledge. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jerry McNeece, William Richardson, Randy Money, Brent Comans, Bobby Cole, Chad Thompson, and Michael Johnson.
Memorials may be sent to: Morton United Methodist Church in Morton, MS or Crosspointe Church Children’s Fund in Olive Branch, MS.
