David was born in Dermott, Arkansas on April 03, 1967 to Robert and Jean Milner. He was raised in Dumas, Arkansas and attended college in Conway at UCA. He married Jeannie on March 23, 1991, built a home, and shortly after had two of the best children a man could ask for, James and Breanna. After outgrowing what they thought would be their forever home, they moved and raised their children in the Vilonia schools and faithfully attended the First Baptist Church in Vilonia, Arkansas. Soon after, worked transferred them to Tampa, FL and a few short years later to Loxley, AL where he last resided in the house he designed for his bride. He was so proud of his family’s “Carnival Cruise Ship” and “Skip and Dave’s backyard oasis” as it was nicknamed.
David worked for the ACE Hardware Corporation from 1989 to December 23, 2017. He was always on top of every minute detail so he would not get caught off guard. David had a twenty-eight year career with ACE and was proud to have served and he loved his job. He was the gentlest giant and acquired several fun nick names over the years. Some of them included “Big Dave”, “THE Buwanna”, or just plain “Dave”. He loved deep sea fishing, traveling, camping, boating, and island hopping with his bride.
He is survived by his wife of twenty-six plus years, Jeannie Meyer Milner of Fairhope, AL; his parents, Robert and Jean Milner of Brandon, MS; his children, James David Milner of Conway, AR, and Breanna Milner of Birmingham, AL; sister, Karol Milner Tubbs (Robert) of Brandon, MS; nephews, Cody Curtis Tubbs of St. Louis, MO, Christian Hunter Tubbs of Pelahatchie, MS, and Addison Steel Meyer of North Little Rock, AR; nieces, Susan Taylor Smith of Hot Springs, AR, Jordan Elizabeth Smith of New Orleans, LA, Winston Orion Meyer of Memphis, TN, and Maile Faith Tubbs of Pelahatchie, MS.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to a memorial fund set up in his children’s name, James David Milner and Breanna Milner, at the Centennial Bank in Fairhope, AL, 1-888-372-9788.
