I have known Virginia (Virgie as we call her) since we were in school together at Ringgold. She was three years older than me, but she was a dear friend. I never knew her as Virginia and when she bought the place at Harperville, I did not know it was her for a long time for she went by Virginia. Once we reconnected, we renewed our friendship. Virgie was so good to me. She thought she had to share whatever she had. I would take her vegetables or whatever I had, but she always sent something home with me. If I had something she needed to borrow, we shared that way. She, like me, was not perfect, but no one but our Lord is perfect. The last time I talked to her while she was in Carthage Baptist, it was as if she was saying goodbye. I knew she could not hold out to talk long, but I felt I needed to tell her I loved her. We talked 2 min. 15 sec. The last thing she told me was "Shirley I love, always have and always will." I am so glad I called her. I loved her dearly and I will surely miss our visits at her house and our visits on the phone. We always talked at least an hour when she called. I have so many good memories of her and she loved her family so much. She will always hold a special place in my heart forever.
