Mary Joyce Hawkins

August 31, 1949 — September 7, 2021

Mary Joyce Hawkins, 72, of Raleigh, MS, passed away on September 7, 2021, at St Dominic Jackson Memorial Hospital in Jackson, MS. She was the daughter of Wilbur Rawls and Ester Huff. Services will be on Friday, September 10, 2021, graveside, at Providence Lutheran Cemetery at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be from 1:15PM until 1:50 PM, graveside.
Mary was a lifelong resident of Smith County and the Burns Community for the past 30 years. She was Baptist by faith and a member of High Hill Baptist Church in Raleigh, MS. She loved spending time with her family. She was very active her community and cooking for people. Late in life she obtained her cosmetology degree and opened her own beauty shop, a career she enjoyed till her death.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Wilber and Ester Rawls; brother David Rawls; husbands, Dewayne Hawkins and John Mangum. She is survived by her two sons, Loyd Richardson (Sonia) of Florence, MS and Robert Richardson of Phoenix, AZ; one brother Dewayne Rawls of Taylorsville, MS; four grandchildren, Blake Richardson, Camden Richardson, Melanie Richardson, and Justin Richardson.
Pallbearers will be Toby Hodge, Wayne Batte, Jimmy Smith, Greg Young, Hilton Hawkins and Kirby Knowles.
