Ray Taylor Wright, age 67, passed away Friday April 8, 2022 in Morton, MS. Visitation will be held on Friday April 15, 2022 from 1:00PM until 6:00PM at Wolf Funeral Services Morton, MS and Saturday April 16, 2022 from 11:00AM until 11:50AM at Union Grove MB Church in Forest, MS with Services to follow at Union Grove MB Church in Forest, MS. Officiating will be Pastor Rochelle Wright under the direction of Wolf Funeral Services. Burial will follow in the Masonic Cemetery in Morton MS.
Ray Taylor Wright was born on November 9, 1954 in Scott County, Mississippi, which was his home all of his life.
Ray was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church in Forest, Mississippi, where he was a lead singer in the male choir. Ray loved to sing and he used his gift that God gave him.
Ray married Exerlena Gales of Forest, Mississippi and they have been married over 40 years. To this union, two children were born, Jimmy Ray (Fanya) Bogan of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Leola Michelle Bogan of Forest, Mississippi.
On November 27, 2021, Ray and Lena renewed their vows and reconnected with God.
Ray’s parents, Barry White (Sonny), Jasper and Hattie Reese preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death is one brother, Barry, Jr.; one daughter, Frances Bogan; one sister, Linda Wright, and four aunts.
Left to cherish Rays memories are his wife, Exerlena; his children, Tammy (Nathaniel) Morgan of Houston, Texas; Homeca Bogan of Raleigh, Mississippi, Ashaycia Bogan of Forest, Mississippi, Lamontay Bogan of Forest, Mississippi, and Billy Ray (Kristen) Bogan; two sisters, Bartasha (Curtis) Carr of Forest, Mississippi and Somer (Alvin) Moore of Pulaski, Mississippi; two brothers, Willie Lee of Jackson, Mississippi and James White of Fort Wayne, Indiana; four aunts, Willie Mae Macklin of Pelahatchie, Mississippi; Geraldine Ealy of California; Betty White of Morton, Mississippi, and Lorine (L.C.) Weakly of Brandon, Mississippi; 37 Grandchildren, 36 Great-grandchildren and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
