Alfred W. King

Alfred W. King, age 68, passed away at Ochsner Rush Hospital in Meridian, MS.  His visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and Wednesday, January 31, 2024, from 1:00 PM until 1:50 PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS.  His services will take place at 2:00 PM in our Funeral Home Chapel.  His Burial will follow at Morton Memorial Gardens in Morton, MS.  Bro. Andy Boles and Bro. Charlie Jones will officiate under the direction of Wolf Funeral Services.

Alfred was born on September 12, 1955, to James Wiley King and Gertrude Collins in Neshoba County, MS.  He lived in Morton, MS for most of his life.  Alfred was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Forkville, MS.   He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish.  

Alfred was preceded in death by his parents, James King and Gertrude King Maxie; seven brothers, Leon, Erskin, James, Jimmy L., Maybrie (Red), Belvin (Pete) and Melvin King; seven sisters, Ruth Nation, Frances Ray, Bobbie Nell Burkes, Pearl Bryant Hutchison, Doris Knowles, Kathy Hall and Linda Vance.  He is survived by his wife of forty-two years, Debra King of Morton, MS; his two daughters, Daisy Regina Coley (James) of Morton, MS and Shirley Lorena Runnels (Michael) Forest, MS; his three sisters, Dorothy Faye Smith of Lorena, MS, Mary Ann Jones of Philadelphia, MS and Clara Hillhouse of Leakesville, MS; his brother, Edward King of Forest, MS; his five grandchildren, Jeffrey Runnels, Michelle Fortenberry, Elijah Coley, Samantha Parker and Shelley Tuberville and eight great grandchildren. 

Pallbearers will be James Coley, Troy Watts, Jr. Morgan Fortenberry, Michael Runnels, Terry Goggins and Zack Howell.
