Lawrence Greggory Ashley, 70, a resident of Pelahatchie MS, passed away at his home peacefully from health issues on April 22, 2020.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 26, 2020 at Farm Rest Cemetery in Lena, MS. Visitation will be graveside starting at 1:30 pm, and services starting at 2:00 PM. Officiating will be Brother Hamilton.
Mr. Ashley had been a resident of Pelahatchie, MS, moving from Monroe, LA. In his early years at the age of 20 he served for the United States Air Force as load master during Vietnam War from 1969-1973.
In 1985, Mr. Ashley and family move to Mississippi where he began work for Hederman Brothers which he retired from 5 years ago.
During retirement, he enjoyed traveling to LA to visit with his brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. He also enjoyed spending time at home with his daughters, grandkids, and great grandson. He was a man of God, and loved his family unconditionally.
Mr. Ashley is proceeded in death by his parents Jack and Palma Ashley, his wife Shirley Ashley, son Chad Ashley, and sister Cheryl Chapman. He is survived by his two daughters Jan Vasquez of Pelahatchie, Ms; Tracey Hester of Pelahatchie, Ms; Two brothers Michael Ashley of Bogalusa, LA; Billy Ashley of Lewisville, Texas, two sisters; Sarah Moss of West Monroe, LA; Tammie Arant of West Monroe, LA; 6 grandchildren Gyna Hester of Mesquite, Texas, Heather Overby of Brandon, Ms, Devon Myers of El Paso, Texas, Kacey Myers of Pelahatchie, Ms, Derian Hester of Mesquite, Texas, Trinity Jayden of Denver, Colorado; 2 great grandsons and numerous nieces and nephews.
