Elizabeth Bates

Mrs. Elizabeth Yvonne Bates, age 56, a resident of Forest, MS., passed away on Sunday February 1, 2015 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held on Wednesday February 4, 2015 from 5:30 PM until 8:00 PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Lake, MS. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday February 5, 2015 at 12 Noon at Wolf Funeral Services. Burial will be held on Thursday February 5, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Fellowship Baptist Cemetery in Philadelphia, MS. Officiating will be Rev. Ronnie Wright. Wolf Funeral Services in Lake, MS will be in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Bates was a lifetime resident of Forest, MS. She was a member of the New-Zion Baptist Church in Walnut Grove, MS. She loved gardening and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Bates is preceded in death by her parents, William and Ruthie Bates and Alma Kate Bates; five brothers, Charles Earl Fortenberry, Roland Reid, Opal Reid, Durwood Reid, Hooper Jack Fortenberry. She is survived in death by her fiancé, Roger Cochran of Forest, MS.; three daughters, Misty Spence of Forest, MS., Tanya Fuller of Forest, MS., Wendy Hendricks of Forest, MS.; one son, Kevin Bufkin of Forest, MS.; one sister, Helen Morgan of Forest, MS.; two brothers, Yates Fortenberry of Forest, MS., Sam Fortenberry of Forest, MS.; eighteen grandchildren; one great grandchild; a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be Rick Evers, Shannon Wright, Greg Cochran, Stanley Fortenberry, Wade Fortenberry, Paul Pearson.
