Jerry Bates

Mr. Jerry Bates, 60, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be Saturday, March 19, 2022, from 12:30 PM until 5:00 PM and Sunday, March 20, 2022, from 12:00 PM until 1:50 PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. Funeral services will be on Sunday, March 20, 2022, at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be at Leesburg Church of Christ in Morton, MS. Pastor Tim Lott will officiate under the direction of Wolf Funeral Services.
Jerry was born in Rankin County, MS on December 10, 1961, to Bobbie Jean Shivers and George Bates. He was a lifelong resident of Scott County, MS. Jerry was a member of All Seasons Worship Center in Forest, MS. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and he worked for Tyson Foods for over 25 years.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Bobbie and George Bates; daughter, Felicia Ann Bates; siblings, Barbara, George “Buddy”, Michael, Jackie and Cheryl. He is survived by his wife, Winnie Bates of Pulaski, MS; daughters, Rebecca Bates, Teresa Bates and Kimberly Bates, all of Forest, MS; sisters, Rhonda Steward of Montrose, MS and Pat Huff of Forest, MS; brothers, David Bates of Union, MS and Larry Bates of Morton, MS; grandchildren, Gareth, Gaylon and Makiyah Bates, Devin Coleman and Jakari Brown as well as one great grandchild, Aiden Christopher Havard.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Bates, Ricky Gilbert, Octavius Noblin, Jeffrey Steward, David Anderson and Brandon Hutchinson.
