Mrs. Theresa “Miss Bent” Benton, age 77, passed away on January 07, 2017 at her residence in Forest, MS. Visitation will be held on Monday January 09, 2017 from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS and again on Tuesday January 10, 2017 from 12:15PM until 12:50PM at Forest Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday January 10, 2017 at 1:00PM at Forest Baptist Church. Dr. Gordon Sansing will officiate and Rev. Vic Bowman will deliver the Eulogy. Burial will follow in the Jupiter Baptist Church Cemetery in Braxton, MS. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Benton, born on August 10, 1939 in Smith County, MS, had lived in Forest since 1975 where she moved from Simpson County, MS. She was a member of the Forest Baptist Church where she served in the nursery for many years. She opened her home and her heart for over thirty years to many children who fondly remember her as “Miss Bent”.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe A. Benton in 1987 and her twin sons, James Keith Benton and John Kelly Benton. She is survived by three daughters, Ramona Harris (Donnie) of Forest, MS, La Donna Tullos (Andy) of Prosper, TX, and Ali Brown (James) of Glasgow, KY; three sisters, Nola Mae Anderson of Taylorsville, MS, Nell Milling of Hattiesburg, MS, and Barbara Glidden of Douglasville, GA; three brothers, Billy Joe Shelby of Taylorsville, MS, Max Harold Shelby of Taylorsville, MS, and Paul Shelby of Taylorsville, MS; five grandchildren, Benton Harris, Ashlyn Brown, Auggie Brown, Hayden Tullos, and Hughes Tullos; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Larry Rogers, Bill Freeman, Bill Dykeman, Benton Harris, Haywood Reeves, and Auggie Brown. Honorary Pallbearers will be Hayden Tullos, Hughes Tullos, and Ashlyn Brown.
