Billy James Johnson

Billy James Johnson, known as BJ, was born on July 8, 1957, in Morton, Mississippi. He was a cherished member of the community and left an indelible mark on all who knew him. With deep sadness, we announce his passing on January 31, 2025, in Jackson, Mississippi.

BJ was a man of many passions and talents. He found joy in the great outdoors, reveling in activities such as hunting and fishing. His love for adventure extended to riding motorcycles, which brought him joy and a sense of freedom. Music held a special place in his heart, as he delighted in playing guitar and singing. Many will remember his warm and inviting spirit, particularly when he gathered friends and family for memorable meals he prepared.

Family was the cornerstone of BJ's life. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Eakes (Timmy); his son, Billy James "Jae" Johnson II (Alexis); and his treasured granddaughter, Adalyn "Punk Punk" Johnson. They continue to carry forward his legacy of love, laughter, and the spirit of togetherness.

BJ was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Alivia Johnson; and his parents, Percy and Bobbie Johnson. Their memory will forever be intertwined with his.

Visitation services will be held at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, Mississippi, on Friday, February 7, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and again on Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 11:30 AM to 12:15 PM. His funeral service is scheduled to begin at 12:30 PM in the funeral home chapel. The family invites all who knew and loved BJ to join them in celebrating his life.

Billy James Johnson's warmth and laughter will be deeply missed, yet his memory will forever shine brightly in the hearts of those he loved.
