Joe Bounds, 57, a resident of Union passed away Sunday, September 04, 2011 at University Medical Center. Visitation was held at Wolf Funeral Services on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm and again on Wednesday, September 07, 2011 from 10:00 am until 2:45 pm. Funeral services were in the chapel on Wednesday at 3:00 pm with burial following in the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Cemetery, Forest, MS. Officiating was the Rev. Steve Roberts. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Bounds had lived in Union for the past 8 years, formerly of Forest and was of the Baptist faith. He loved gardening and raising white Bulldogs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary Bounds; his brother, Troy Stewart.
He is survived by his wife, Regina Wolf Bounds, Union, MS; two sons, Joseph Dewayne Bounds and George Michael Bounds, both of Union, MS; four sisters, Barbara Cornelison of Pelahatchie, MS; Betty Lepard of Carthage, MS; Brenda Boykin of Morton, MS; Sarah McMillan of Forest, MS; three brothers, Don Stewart of Carthage, MS; Jessie Stewart of Houston, TX; Gene Stewart of Jacksonville, FL; one grandchild, Nathan Tyler Bounds of Lake, MS; a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Arthur Wayne Townsend, Robert Brooks, Robert Stewart, Robbie Lepard, Gary Crimm, and Tony Bailey. Honorary pallbearers were Johnny Hoard, Jason Ellsworth, and Thurman Posey.
