Leroy Chandler, Jr., 72, born April 16, 1949, passed away on, Friday, July 2, 2021, in Rankin County. Visitation will be on Monday, July 5, 2021, at 10:00 AM until 10:50 AM with services to follow at 11:00 held at Leesburg Baptist Church, Morton, MS with Rev. Billy Beal officiating. Burial will be at Leesburg Baptist Cemetery under the direction of Wolf Funeral Services.
Leroy was a native of Rankin County and has lived several years in Jackson and most recently in Pickens, MS in Madison County. He is Baptist by faith and was a member of First Baptist Church in Canton, After graduating from Central High School in Jackson, MS, Leroy enlisted in the U. S. Air Force in 1968. He served as a crew chief in the 432nd Tactical Reconnaissance Wing during the Vietnam conflict and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in 1972. Leroy was the recipient of the Air Force Commendation medal for Meritorious Service. Leroy then returned home where he was employed by Packard Electric (Division of the GM Corporation) where he retired in 1999 as a tool and die maker.
Leroy is preceded in death by his parents, Leroy Sr. and Elois Chandler; first wife Angie Chandler; one brother Reggie Chandler. He is survived by his wife Anna Beal Chandler of Pickens, MS; one daughter, Samantha Flynn (Greg) of Pearl, MS; two sons Andy Chandler (Kim) of Clinton, MS and Michael Chandler (Tina) of Pelahatchie, MS; two sisters Betty Martin of Jackson, MS and Dora Beal of West Point, TN; Mother-in-law, Dot Perry; seven grandchildren, Heather Rast, Charlee Beth McDaniel, Ashlee Ferguson, Drew Chandler, Meredith Chandler, Graham Chandler and Jack Flynn and two great grandchildren.
Pallbearers, Greg Flynn, Glenn Dixon, Marc Lunsford, Drew Chandler, Percy Thornton and Corey Roberts. Honorary Pallbearers Donald Myers, Jacob Beal and Wesley Chandler.
