Stephen "Champ" Chaney

Stephen “Champ” Chaney, 33, passed away at UMMC in Jackson, MS on August 1, 2021. He was born on December 23, 1987 to Linda Penn and Stephen Durfey Chaney, Jr. Visitation will be Friday,
august 6, 2021, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Wolf Funeral Services, Morton, MS. A second visitation will be on Saturday, August 7, 2021, from 10:00 AM to 10:50 AM at Ephesus Baptist
Church with services to follow at 11:00 AM.
Champ has lived in the Ringgold Community for the past year after moving from the Pelahatchie and Sandhill Community. He was Baptist by faith and was a member of the Ephesus Baptist Church in Forest, MS. Champ was an avid sports fan and loved to fish. At the time of his death he was a manager at Penn’s in Brandon.
Champ is preceded in death by his maternal Grandparents, Roger and Margaret “Mause” Penn; Paternal Grandfather, Stephen “Papa” Chaney. He is survived by his lovely wife Sharley Hardin Chaney of Forest, MS; parents Stephen Chaney (Connie) of Corpus Christi, TX, Linda Penn Chaney of Pelahatchie, MS; Paternal Grandmother, Maryann “Mimi” Chaney of Brandon, MS; Sister, Mary Margaret Chaney of Charlotte, NC; Father and Mother –in-law, Bobby and Cherie Hardin of Forest, MS; Brother-in-law, Landon Hardin of Forest, MS; Grandparents –in-law Jackie and Sandra Burkes of Forest, MS and Nancy Hardin of Conehatta, MS; a number of Aunts, Uncles, cousins and lifelong friends.
Pallbearers will be Michael Penn, Bryce Penn, Matt Case, Brandon Holifield, Anthony Ashmore, Alex Patrick, Chris Renfroe and Landon Hardin.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Ephesus Baptist Church.
