Bruce Wheeler Clifford, 64, a resident of Morton, MS passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, LA. Visitation was held at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS on Friday, December 07, 2012 from 6:00 until 9:00 pm and will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2012 from 2:00 until 3:15 pm. Funeral services will be held in the chapel on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 3:30 pm. Burial following in Morton Memorial Gardens, Morton, MS. Officiating will be Rev. David Pyles and Bro. Earl Clark. Wolf Funeral Services will be in charge of arrangements.
Bruce was a lifelong resident of Morton, MS and was a member of Grace Primitive Baptist Church, Pearl, MS. He was an active member of the VFW Post #5586 in Morton, MS. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a 1966 graduate of Morton High School and graduated from USM with a degree in accounting. At the time of his death he was the owner & accountant of Clifford Accounting and CEO of Thrash Aviation. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and motorcycle riding. He was a member of the Lewis Brothers Hunting Club and he loved to ride his Honda Goldwing, having ridden in all the states in the Continental U.S. Mr. Clifford was very active in his community, having served as election commissioner of Scott County, Past President of the Chamber of Commerce and the Lions Club. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandson, Pate Goldsby.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles G. and Mamie Helen Clifford; and one sister, Barbara Helen Ott.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years “His First Wife”, Margaret Craig Clifford of Morton, Ms; mother-in-law, Maxine Craig of Morton, MS; two daughters Craig Allison Clifford of Morton, MS; Christen Lindsay Goldsby and husband Shane of D’Lo, MS; one brother, Charles G. “Ricky” Clifford, III of Kokomo, MS; grandson, John Pate Goldsby; mother-in-law, Maxine Craig of Morton, MS; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Jay Ott, Josh Baugh, Luke Baugh, Jason Bradshaw, Scott Herrod Richie Grant, and Josh Hayman. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Craig, Ronnie Craig, Randy Baugh, Shane Goldsby, Jim W. Armstrong, Sr., Jack Taylor, Willie Earl Ferrell, James L. Ott, Jimmy Thrash, Roger Latham, David Lee, and Willie Toney.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the VFW Post # 5586 in Morton, MS or
to the Grace Primitive Baptist Church, 341 Cross Park Dr., Pearl, MS 39208.
