Sara Ruth Cole, age 79, retired music teacher, passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2010, at The Mississippi Care Center in Morton, MS. Funeral services were held at 10:00 A.M. Monday August 23, 2010 from the funeral home chapel of Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS with burial in the Line Creek Baptist Cemetery in Morton, MS. Visitation was held Sunday August 22, 2010 from 5:30 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and Monday from 8:00 A.M. until 9:45 A.M. at the funeral home. Officiating was Rev. Keith Keeton and Rev. Gary Glazier.
Mrs. Cole was born and spent most of her life in the Clarksburg Community in Morton and had lived in Brandon, MS for over 20 years. She had been a member of the Morton United Methodist Church for the past 30 years. She had taught piano in Brandon, MS for 20 years before returning home to Morton to also to teach music for 20 years. She loved making blankets for the children at the Blair E. Batson Hospital and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Cole was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Cole, Sr. in 2008 and her grandson Chet Cole in 1997.
Mrs. Cole is survived by one daughter, Ms Ann Cole of Morton, MS; two sons, William A. “Bill” Cole, Jr., and his wife Donna, of Brandon, FL; and George Cole and his wife Cathy of Morton; six grandchildren, Lea Ann Peavy, Dennis Cole, Steve Cole, Bobby Cole, Amy Cole, and Jodi Myers and six great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to The Morton United Methodist Church Music Fund or The Blair E. Batson Hospital in Jackson, MS.
