Lavelle Lee "Pepper" Culpepper

Lavelle Lee “Pepper” Culpepper, Jr., age 71, passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at his residence in Lake, MS. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2022, from 4:30 PM until 8:00 PM and Monday, December 19, 2022, from 10:00 AM until 10:50 AM at Wolf Funeral Services in Lake, MS. Services will take place at 11:00 AM in our Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Sharon Primitive Baptist Church of Scott County. Bro Bobby Boyles will officiate under the direction of Wolf Funeral Services.
Pepper was born to Lavelle Lee Culpepper, Sr. and Florence Pauline Hollingsworth on December 10, 1951, in Forest, MS. He was a lifelong resident of the Goodhope Community. Pepper used love riding horses, loved to aggravate his grandkids and enjoyed going to the families sporting events. Pepper was a loving family man. He was often known as the community advisor.
Pepper was preceded in death by his parents, Lavelle Lee Culpepper, Sr. and Florence Pauline Culpepper; Father-in-law, Jack Harrison; Brother-in-law, Ted Harrison, Sister-in-law, Sue Harrison and Nephew, Brad Harrison. He is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Barbara Jean Harrison Culpepper; two sons, Lavelle Lee Culpepper, III (Wendy) of Lake, MS and Jackie Culpepper (Libby) of Lake, MS; two sisters, Gail Devoter (Robert) of Lake, MS and Becky Noel (Charlie) of Hillsboro, MS; two sisters-in-laws, Glenda Chambers (Danny) of Sevierville, TN and Kay Hines (Martin) of Forest, MS; three brothers-in-laws, Larry Harrison (Stephanie) of Morton, MS; Jimmy Harrison (Charlene) of Conehatta, MS and Jessie Harrison (Tonya) of Lake, MS; nine grandchildren, Justin Culpepper, Levi Culpepper (Presley), Madison Vancor (Austin), Westin Culpepper, Kurt Culpepper, Jayden Rivers, Jesse Barrett all of Lake, MS, Lexe Culpepper of Forest, MS and Justin Barrett (Jordan) of Decatur, MS; eight great grandchildren, Sage Culpepper, Xander Culpepper, Kolbi Culpepper, Sarah Jean Vancor all of Lake, MS, Rivers Barrett of Decatur, MS, Lindleigh Barrett, Freya Barrett and Luke Barrett all of Lake, MS.
Pallbearers will be Blake Hines, Eli Harrison, Brandon Harrison, Jackie Harrison, Lance Noel and Landon Devoter. Honorary pallbearers will be Russell McGee, Garrett Taylor, Daniel Taylor, Chad Hillman, Boo Elkins and Cody Devoter.
