Mark Alan De Vries

Mark Alan De Vries, the son of Maynard and Dorothy (De Cook) De Vries, was born on September 30, 1963. He passed away at his home in Pelahatchie, MS on March 10, 2020 at the age of 56 years, 5 months and 10 days.
Mark was a graduate of Pella Community High School. While attending Pella High, Mark first met and dated his future wife Laura (Laurie) Shearer. They reunited in 2009 and were married on May 21, 2019.
Mark was full of life, lived for adventures and never met a stranger. Growing up he enjoyed working on the family farm with his father, uncles and neighbors. He loved harvest season. He became a paramedic in the Jackson, MS area, became a truck driver and traveled most of the continental United States in this career. He enjoyed sky diving, spending time with friends and family, boating, cooking for people and most of all loved riding motorcycles with friends. He had finally gotten his dream bike – a Big Dog K9.
Those left to honor Mark’s memory are his wife, Laura, of Pelahatchie, MS; stepson, Antonio J Martin II of Bellingham, WA; stepdaughter BreeAnn Martin of Holland, MI; his parents, Maynard and Dorothy De Vries of Pella; mother-in-law Ann Shearer of Holland, MI; his siblings: Mary (Jim) Dowie of Pella, Matt (Kelly) De Vries of Pella, Martha (Tim) Verhey of Hendersonville, TN; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Visitation with the family will be held at Trinity Reformed Church in Pella, IA on Saturday, March 14th from 10:00-11:30 am.
