Gene Duke

Gene Duke age 83, and a resident of Pelahatchie, MS. passed away on Sunday March 16, 2014 at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held on Tuesday March 18, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Wednesday March 19, 2014 from 9:30 AM until 10:50 AM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday March 19, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. Burial will follow in the Merchant Cemetery in Smith County. Officiating will be Rev. Jack Gardner. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Duke had lived in Pelahatchie since 1996. He lived most of his life in Garland, TX. He was of the Church of Christ Faith and was the retired owner of Duke’s Steakhouse in Pelahatchie, MS.
Gene was preceded in death by one son, Perry Duke, and one grandson, Allen Runnels. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Carol Duke of Pelahatchie, MS.; four daughters, Lynn Grover and husband Reggie of Pelahatchie, MS.; Gwen Snider and husband Duane of Frisco, TX.; Barbara Biggs of Cypress Springs, TX.; Judy Windham and husband Gary of Pelahatchie, MS.; two sons, Josh Duke and wife Shauna of Kerns, TX.; Danny Duke and wife Judy of Guthrie, OK.; one sister, Mary Lou Lusk of San Angelo, TX.; one brother, Jerry Duke of Red Oak, TX.; twenty eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
