Elizabeth Stingley Lawrence

December 24, 1932 — February 15, 2024

Elizbeth (Stingley) Lawrence was born on December 24, 1932 in Morton, MS.  She was blessed to her parents, Horace and Maggie Lee Stingley.  She was third of nine children.   Her visitation will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM at Christian Triumph M. B. Church in Morton, MS.  Her services will take place at 2:00 PM.  Her burial will follow at Masonic Cemetery in Morton, MS.  Pastor Willie Robinson will officiate under the direction of Wolf Funeral Services.  

At the age of eighteen, she left Mississippi and moved to Arizona with her Aunt Mel.  While there she met and married the handsome Jack Lawrence. They shared many interests together.  They loved to travel and spend time entertaining family and friends.  They both loved to fish and hunt.  Gardening was a passion they both shared.  He had his vegetable garden, and she her rose garden.   They were good friends as well as husband and wife. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Lawrence; her parents, Horace and Maggie Stingley; her sisters, Ruth Stingley, Ellen Norris, Mary Magee and Margie Ratliff; her brother, Horace Stingley, Jr; her daughter, Deborah Lawrence and her great-great grandson, DeShawn Renfro.

She worked as a line cook in Pinetop County Club, Pinetop, AZ.  Elizabeth worked for over twenty years at something she really enjoyed doing.  She loved cooking and entertaining with family and friends. 

Elizabeth was an active member of Blooming Grove M. B. Church where she served as church secretary and treasurer.  In 2005 she moved her membership to Christian Triumph M. B. Church, where she also became an active member will to help wherever necessary. 

She leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters, Iris Lawrence and Ivy Lawrence both of Morton, MS; her two sons, Spencer Lawrence of Kailua, HI and Keith Lawrence of Show Low, AZ; her three sisters, Queen Paige (Willie) of Jackson, MS, Shirley Norris (John) of Forest, MS and Bettye Burgess (Arlester) of Pearl, MS; her two grandsons; her eight great grandchildren; one great-great grandson and a host of nieces and nephews as well as many friends.
