Elizabeth "Lizzie" Weems

Elizabeth “Lizzie” Weems, age 92, passed on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at St. Martin’s In The Pines in Birmingham, AL.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM at Wolf Funeral Services in Lake, MS.  Services will take place at 11:00 AM in our Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Pine Ridge Baptist Cemetery in Lawrence, MS.  Rev. Dr. Vaughn Stafford will officiate under the direction of Wolf Funeral Services.

Lizzie was born on February 1, 1931, in Newton County, MS to Quitman Arthur Carson and Alice Dennis.  She moved from Lake, MS to Trussville, AL where she had lived for the past seven Years.  Lizzie was a member of Clear Branch Methodist Church in Trussville, AL. She worked as a Teller for the Bank of Lake for thirty-five years.  Lizzie loved flower gardening and spending time with her family.

Lizzie was preceded in death by her husband, Donald C. Weems; her parents, Quitman and Alice Carson; her four sisters and one brother. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Dexter of Springville, AL; her son, Bruce Weems (Charlotte) of Alabaster, AL; her six grandchildren; her twelve great grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews, brother and sister-in-law.

Pallbearers will be Donald Yates, Jeremy Jones, Andy Dinsmore, Nick Evans, Jason Homan and Micah Weems.
