Glenda Ann Sessums Fedrick, passed away Friday, November 1, 2019, at MS Care Center after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was born in Morton, Mississippi, on March 3, 1949. She grew up in the Cooperville community where she was active in Cooperville Baptist Church playing the piano.
Glenda Sessums graduated from Morton High School. She was married to William Clyde Fedrick, sharing a happy life and strong bond for many years. She has one son, Jonathon. She was a devoted wife and mother. For 41 years, Glenda had a successful career in the cable television industry, employed by Time Warner/Comcast. Her hobbies included traveling, shopping, fishing, eating out, watching movies and loving her pets.
Glenda was preceded in death by most of her family: Parents, Annice Gibbons Sessums and George Thomas Sessums; husband, William Fedrick; sister Carolyn Sessums Smith & husband Jim; sister Emma Dell Sessums Beatty & husband Claiborne; brother George Prentiss Sessums, Sr. & wife Louise; infant brother Thomas Marion Sessums; and also a nephew Prentiss Sessums, Jr.
She had love and concern for others as well as good Christian values. Glenda had a special bond with Connie Smith Huff (husband Jamie). Connie was a niece who was actually more like her daughter. Another niece, Rochelle (Shelly) Sessums LeGrand (husband Ed), was tremendously devoted to her well -being. These two ladies, along with niece, Vivian Sessums, and nephew, Steve Sessums (wife Sandra), were her caregivers and support system throughout her illness.
The family wishes to thank all of the staff at Mississippi Care Center and Hospice Ministries for their care and support. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 16, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Cooperville Baptist Church. Glenda’s final resting place is Cooperville Baptist Church Cemetery, south of Morton, Mississippi. Wolf Funeral Home was in charge of preparation and services.
