Mrs. Edna Frances Ficklin was born on February 13, 1933 to the late Grant and Osceola Lindsey of Morton, Mississippi. She returned to the Lord on January 16, 2022 peacefully at her home. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 21, 2022 at 12:00 PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. Rev. Willie Jones will officiate under the direction of Wolf Funeral Services.
“Frances” as she was affectionately known by her family and friends became a member of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. After graduating from BMJ, Frances moved to McNary, Arizona. While residing there, she continued to socialize with the late Reverend Jack Ficklin, Sr. Both returned back to Mississippi and were married on December 24, 1952. Their union was blessed and provided them with six (6) children, Vernice Brown (deceased), Melissa Ficklin (deceased), Randy Ficklin (deceased), Jack Lee Ficklin Jr. (deceased), Malinda Craft, and Donald “Marlowe” Ficklin (Greta Ficklin).
Frances was a hard worker. She was employed at Talon Zipper Plant for ten (10) plus years and also Peavey Electronics for twenty (20) years. She retired in 1998. In her day to day life, Frances was never afraid to tell it like is. She brought immense joy and laughter to all that knew her.
Frances leaves to cherish her memory, Malinda Craft and Donald “Marlowe” Ficklin (Greta Ficklin); Six grandchildren: Brandi Brown, Kiffany Hornby, Bridgett Brown, Justin “JD” Ficklin, Randall D. Ficklin, and Jarred C. Craft, six (6) great grandchildren, and many friends and family. She will truly be missed.
