Gary Lynn Holmes

Gary Lynn Holmes, born on February 22, 1956, in Mississippi, passed away on April 1, 2025, at UMMC in Jackson, Mississippi. A lifelong resident of Scott County, he was deeply rooted in his community and held the teachings of his Baptist faith close to his heart.

Gary's affection for music, particularly his admiration for George Jones, was well-known among friends and family. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, often found fishing or riding the back roads, relishing the tranquility these activities brought him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ance Lee Holmes and Geneva Stewart Holmes, and his siblings Shirley Reed, Bobbie Jewel Holmes, Roger Holmes, Rodney Holmes, and Billy Holmes.

Gary's life was marked by a love for family, faith, and the natural beauty of his Mississippi surroundings. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth and fond memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

Pallbearers will be Michael Holmes, Joseph Johnson, J D Thornberry, Tyler Wilson, Patrick Bliss, and Jerry Reid.

A visitation will take place on April 3, 2025, from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, Mississippi. Following this, a graveside service will be held at Holly Bush Cemetery in Pelahatchie, beginning at 4:00 PM.
