Vallie R. Gilbert

Vallie R. Gilbert, age 80, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at her residence in Morton, MS. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023, from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM and Sunday, March 5, 2023, from 12:00 PM until 12:45 PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. Services will take place at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill M. B. Cemetery in Morton, MS. Pastor Reginald McCoy will officiate under the direction of Wolf Funeral Services.
Vallie was born to Welcome Hargrove and Pauline Gilbert on January 11, 1943, in Scott County, MS.
Vallie was preceded in death by her parents, Welcome Hargrove and Pauline Adams; son, Charlie Gilbert; two grandchildren; two brothers, Sam and Larry Gilbert and one sister, Verna Gilbert. She is survived by six children Darlene Keeton (Gerald, Sr.) of Morton, MS, Cathy Benford of Morton, MS, James Gilbert of Morton, MS, Lyndon Gilbert of Forest, MS, Mary Ward of Morton, MS and Anthony Gilbert (Maria) of Morton, MS; brother, Luther Adams; two sisters, Revonne Boyd and Renna Battle and twenty grandchildren.
