Gloria Rushing

Gloria Porter Rushing, age 82, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024, at Lackey Memorial Hospital in Forest, MS.  Her visitation will be held on Sunday, March 31, 2024, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Monday, April 1, 2024, from 12:00 PM until 12:45 PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS.  Her Services will take place at 1:00 PM in our Funeral Home Chapel.  Her burial will follow at Redtop Union Baptist Cemetery in Harperville, MS. Bro. Paul Smith and Bro. John Wells will officiate under the direction of Wolf Funeral Services.  

Gloria was born to Malcolm Otis Porter and Pauline Bates Porter on July 12, 1941, in Morton, MS.  She had lived in the Forkville Community for the past thirty-six years.   Gloria was a member of New Liberty Church in Branch, MS.  She was a wonderful mother and wife.  Gloria was a twenty-four years liver transplant survivor.  She had a green thumb for flowers and vegetables. Gloria was a good cook. She enjoyed word searches. She loved her grands and great grands.  

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Pauline Porter; her three brothers, Otis Porter, Jr., Jimmy Porter and Jerry Porter. She is survived by her husband Harold Keith Rushing of Morton, MS; her three daughters, Sharon Stracqualursi (Ray) of Flora, MS, Teresa Wells (John) of Pelahatchie, MS and Kimberly Hunt (Scott) of Lena, MS; her son, David Rushing (Jen) of Gorden City, SC; her three sisters, Ann Mchan (Don) of Dumas AR, Linda Hughes of Waynesboro, PA and Sylvia Phillips of VA;  her brother Daniel Porter (Retha) of Morton MS; her eight grandchildren, her nine great grandchildren with one on the way and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
