Bonny Pope Gordon, 50, of Morton died Thursday, June 2, 2011 after a brief battle with cancer.
Visitation with the family will be held Friday, June 3 from 5-8 p.m. at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 4 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Morton. Interment will be held at Morton Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Earl Clark will officiate the service. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton will be in charge of arrangements.
Bonny attended East Central Community College and Mississippi College. She was employed as a teacher with Scott County Public Schools.
Bonny will be remembered for her kind heart and strong love for her family and friends. Her home was always adorned for every holiday and filled with food and cheer for all her loved ones. Everyone knew that she was an amazing cook and decorator but most never knew that she was a licensed cosmetologist, a talented cake designer and an artist.
Bonny was preceded in death by her father Charles Allen Pope.
Survivors include her husband of 26 years, Ken Gordon of Morton; two sons, Ken Gordon III and Kevin Lee Gordon, both of Morton; one step-daughter, Brooke Gordon Craig of Morton; two step-grandsons, Hayden Craig and Michael Craig, both of Morton; parents, Brenda and George Hubbard of Forest; one sister, Rowanna Pope of Deatsville, Ala.; and one brother, Mike Pope of Forest.
Pallbearers will be Ken Gordon,Jr., Ken Gordon III, Kevin Lee Gordon, Mike Pope, Cole Pope and Colin Jack Gordon. Honorary pallbearer will be Rowan Russell.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society/Relay For Life.
