Mrs. Dorothy “Poochie” Grantham Nutt, age 79, a resident of Forkville, MS passed away on Sunday October 4, 2015 at the St. Dominic Jackson Memorial Hospital in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held on Tuesday October 6, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Wednesday October 7, 2015 from 1:00 PM until 2:15 PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday October 7, 2015 at 2:30 PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. Burial will be held in the Behlehem Baptist Cemetery in Morton, MS. Officiating will be Rev. Matt Armstrong and Dr. Mark Gray. Wolf Funeral Services will be in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Nutt was a native of Winona, MS and had lived in Forkville, MS since 1971, formerly living in Pearl, MS. Mrs. Nutt was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Morton, MS. She started singing in the choir at age 16 and had been a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church Choir for over 40 years. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and loved to watch her grandchildren participate in various activities.
Mrs. Nutt was preceded in death by her parents, George and Elma Grantham. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Billy Zack Nutt of Forkville, MS; one son, Billy Zack Nutt, Jr and wife Lisa of Forkville, MS, two daughters, Missy Gray and husband Dr. Mark Gray of Pelahatchie, MS, Janie Simpson and husband John of Brandon, MS; one sister, Betty Sue Willard of Ridgeland, MS; four grandchildren, Tyler Gray, Zack Gray, Mary Grace Simpson, Grant Simpson; a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
