Mr. Gene Harvey age 75, a resident of Lake, MS. passed away on Friday April 18, 2014 at the University Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held on Monday April 21, 2014 from 5:30 PM until 8:30 PM and again on Tuesday April 22, 2014 from 9:00 AM until 9:50 AM at Wolf Funeral Services in Lake, MS. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday April 22, 2014 at 10:00 AM in the chapel of Wolf Funeral Services in Lake, MS. Burial will follow in the Pineridge Baptist Cemetery in Lawrence, MS. Officiating will be Rev. Ken McLemore. Wolf Funeral Services in Lake, MS. is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Harvey had been a resident of Lake, MS for the past 52 years and was a Baptist by faith. He was an avid NASCAR and dirt track racing fan. He was the owner of G & M Trucking and H & S Transportation in Forest, MS for 51 years.
Mr. Harvey is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Dorothy Harvey. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Martha Harvey of Lake, MS.; one son, Robbie Harvey of Lake, MS.; one daughter, Gena Taylor of Lake, MS.; three brothers, William “Billy” Harvey of Madison, MS.; Jimmy Harvey of Lake, MS.; Bobby Harvey of Brandon, MS.; two sisters, Betty Nell Windham of Lawton, OK.; Barbara Jo Warren of Morton, MS.; three grandchildren, Alan Harvey of Meridian, MS.; Colby Harvey of Mobile, AL.; Tiffany Vanderford of Brandon, MS.; two great grandchildren, Kensleigh Vanderford, Kayleigh Davis.
