Henry Mack McCurdy, born on August 17, 1964, in Indiana, passed away peacefully at his residence in Forest, Mississippi, on April 17, 2025. He was a devoted father, brother, and friend, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories for all who knew him.
Henry relocated from Yazoo City to Forest, MS, where he spent the last two and a half years of his life. Known for his hardworking nature and his passion for mechanics, he took great pleasure in working on cars, racing, and collecting toy trucks. His enthusiasm for these hobbies brought joy not only to himself but also to those around him, as he shared his knowledge and passion with friends and family.
He is survived by his step-mother, Sissy McCurdy; six children: Sweeny McCurdy (Erin) of Carthage, MS, Amy Black (Kevin) of Forest, MS, Ginger Hinman (Conor) of Illinois, Jacob McCurdy (Brenna) of Yazoo City, MS, Kaylee McCurdy of Port Gibson, MS, and Alex McCurdy of Yazoo City, MS. Additionally, Henry was blessed with twelve grandchildren who will carry forward his spirit.
Henry is also remembered by his six siblings, Mike McCurdy, Dennis Zimmerman (Sylvia), Shellie Weston (Bruce), Robin Dempsey (Ted), Wendy McCurdy, and Kelly Johnson (Bop), each of whom played a significant role in his life.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Debra Bennett McCurdy; his parents, Henry and Ann McCurdy; and his step-father, Frank Zimmerman. Henry’s passing leaves a profound void in the lives of those who loved him, but his memory will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be missed dearly, and his legacy of kindness and passion will continue to inspire those who knew him. His arrangements are incomplete at his time.
