Marcell Herring, 77, a resident of Morton passed away Monday, October 11, 2010 at Select Specialty Hospital, Jackson, MS. Visitation was at the funeral home Friday, October 15, 2010 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm and again Saturday from 12:00 until 1:45 pm and services were at 2:00 pm in the chapel with burial following in the New Liberty Baptist Cemetery. Officiating was Rev. Paul Smith. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Herring had lived in Forkville since 1995 moving from Harrisville, MS and he was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church in Morton, MS. Until his illness, he was very active in various church activities with the youth at Fellowship Baptist Church in Jackson, MS. He loved catering, cake decorating and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents, W.T. and Vivian Herring and one brother, James Herring.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta Coward Herring, Forkville; Daughters, Cheryl Mosley, Byram; and Tonya (Marc) Furrer, Bismark, ND; one sister, Elaine Carnival, Richland; one brother, Robert Herring, Richland; four grandchildren, Will Furrer, Tristen Furrer, Skyler Furrer and Mary Swaizee.
