Dearl Roddy Holmes

Mr. Dearl Roddy Holmes age 82, passed away Tuesday June 4, 2019 at his residence in Morton, MS. Visitation will be held at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. on June 9, 2019 from 2:30PM until 5:00PM and Monday June 10, 2019 from 10:00AM until 11:50AM. Funeral services will be held at Wolf Funeral Services Chapel in Morton, MS at 12:00PM on June 10, 2019 with burial following at Leesburg Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor Jerry Holmes and Bob Smith will officiate.

Mr. Holmes was the son the late Caiaphas Holmes and Meadie Holmes of the Kalem Community. Mr. Holmes was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps where he served his country honorably as a Lance Corporal and Squad Leader. Mr. Holmes was an active member of Parkway Baptist Church in Morton, MS, where he enjoyed fellowship in serving the Lord. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family. He worked as an auto parts salesman for forty three years before retiring. He is preceded in death by his brother Ance Holmes, Hardy Holmes (Ruby), Davis Holmes (Eloise) Lindsey Holmes ( Louise); sisters, Viola Davis (Will G.) and Loyce Travis (Quincey).

Survivors include, his loving wife of 56 years Nora Faye Holmes; sons, Stan Holmes (Brook), Daniel Holmes (Becky),Jiles Holmes; Grand Children, Cody Holmes, Toby Cooper, Brady Cooper, Blair Cooper and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Albert McKellar, Charles Stevenson, JoJo Graves, Harry Holmes, Joey Holmes and Kenneth Holmes. Honorary Pallbearers will be Carl Holmes, Henry Holmes, Roger Dale Tadlock and Jack Gleason.
