Mrs. Betty Hornsby, age 65, passed away Tuesday June 26, 2018 at St. Dominic Jackson Memorial Hospital in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held Friday June 29, 2018 from 10:00AM until 5:00PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. Services will be held Saturday June 30, 2018 at 1:00PM at Wolf Funeral Services Chapel in Morton, MS. Burial will be at Lovelady Cemetery in Forest, MS. Repast will follow at the Scott County Association Building in Morton, MS. Officiating will be Rev. Floyd McConnell. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Hornsby was a lifelong resident of Forest, MS. She was a member of Mt. Hebron Primitive Baptist Church of Forest, MS. She loved her Lord and going to different churches speaking and listening to gospel music.
She is preceded in death by parents, Eckerd and Amelia Mae Smith, and Brother Willie Smith. Survived by husband, McArthur Hornsby of Forest, MS; daughter, Mary Morgan (Kenny) of Morton, MS; sons Torrance Hornsby of Louisiana; McArthur Hornsby, Jr. of Detroit, MI. five sisters, Katie Patrick (KC) of Harperville, MS; Mary Windham (James, Jr.) of Newton, MS; Evelyn Smith of Rockford, I.L.; Louise Patrick of Forest, MS; Latasha Daniels of Laurel, MS; five brothers, Clifton Qualls of Forest, MS; Ray Neal Qualls (Katherine) of Pulaski, MS; Roosevelt Smith (Bobbie) of Forest, MS; James Daniels of Forest, MS; Eckerd Smith, Jr. (Johnny) of Hattiesburg, MS; twelve grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
