Howard Mitchell Hancock

Howard Mitchell Hancock, age 71, passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.  His visitation will be held on Sunday, December 17, 2023, from 10:00 AM until 1:45 PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Lake, MS.  His services will take place in our Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM.  His burial will follow at Pine Ridge Baptist Cemetery in Lawrence, MS.  Bro. Bobby Everett will officiate under the direction of Wolf Funeral Services.

Howard was born to Spurgeon P. Hancock and Maudie Lee Hancock on May 23, 1952, in Jackson, MS.  He had lived in Lake, MS for the past forty-five years.  Howard loved to fish.  He was devoted to his family and spend time with his kids and other family.  Howard was a kind and gentle soul.  He retired from Simon’s Erosion, but work most of his life at Stribling Equipment in Meridian, MS.

Howard was preceded in death by his Parents, Spurgeon P. Hancock and Maudie Lee Hancock.  He is survived by his wife, Judy Hancock of Lake, MS; his son, Mitchell Hancock (Wendy) of Hattiesburg, MS; his daughter, Jennifer Hancock of Lake, MS; his two sisters, Margaret Evanson (Paul) of Hattiesburg, MS and Leverne Wheat of Hattiesburg, MS; his two grandchildren, Nicole McNeal and Hailey Levens Hancock; his great grandson, Tristen McNeal and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

Pallbearers will be James Wilkerson, Rayford Bounds, Vince Edwards, Phillip Hughey, Raul Toledano and Shawn Mitchell.  Honorary pallbearers will be David and Prentiss Bounds and Tristen McNeal.
