Mr. Lum J. “L.J.” Jacobs, age 91, passed away on Friday December 01, 2017 at his home in Lawrence, MS. Visitation was held on Sunday December 03, 2017 from 12:00PM until 1:45PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Lake, MS. Funeral Services were held on Sunday December 03, 2017 at 2:00PM at the Wolf Funeral Services Chapel in Lake, MS with Bro. Larry Laird and Bro. Tommy Tanner officiating. Burial followed in the Ebenezer Baptist Cemetery. Wolf Funeral Services in Lake, MS was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Jacobs had lived in Lawrence, MS for seventy-five years where he moved from Morton, MS. He was a member of the Pine Ridge Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and talk to people about hunting.
He was preceded in death by his son, Mark Jacobs; daughter, Linda Jacobs; and one granddaughter, Lisa Kersh. He is survived by his wife, Lillie Pearl Jacobs of Lawrence, MS; children, Paula Monk (Kenny) of Forest, MS, Judy Haley (Lee) of Arkansas, Joshua Jacobs of California, and Jonathan Jacobs of Newton, MS; one sister, Dot Cooley of Ellisville, MS; one brother, Larry Gene Jacobs of TN; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Dwight Jacobs, David Mitchell, Jason Mitchell, Jimmy McMillan, Brandon Monk, and Jeffery Monk. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kenneth Monk and Jonathan Jacobs.
