Janice "Rooster" Laverne Anderson

Ms. Janice “Rooster” Anderson, age 59, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS.  Her visitation will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024, from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS.  Her services will take place in our Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM.  Her burial will follow at Pleasant Hill M.B. Cemetery in Morton, MS.  Rev. Willie Robinson will officiate under the direction of Wolf Funeral Services.  

Rooster was born to Ezekiel and Liller Anderson on August 18, 1965, in Scott County, MS.  She was known for always smiling and always dancing.  Rooster would dance to anything. 

Rooster was preceded in death by her parents, Ezekiel and Liller Anderson; one sister, Bettye Anderson; one brother, James Anderson.   She leaves to cherish her memory her only child, Edward James Anderson of Morton, MS; her three granddaughters, Keauna Franklin, Desarie Franklin and Aaliyah Anderson all of Morton, MS and two great grandsons of Morton, MS; her siblings, Ethel Ree Anderson, Shirley (Titus) Palm, Ezell Anderson and Henry (Millie) Anderson all of Morton, MS and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
