Jerry Allen Purvis

Mr. Jerry Allen Purvis, age 76, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2024, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. His visitation will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2024, from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. His services will take place in our Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM. His burial will follow at Morton Memorial Gardens in Morton, MS. Bro. Tal Vardaman will officiate under the direction of Wolf Funeral Services.

Mr. Purvis was born to Oscar Purvis and Eliza Sullivan on January 2, 1948, in Smith County, MS. He was a lifelong resident of Morton, MS. Mr. Purvis was a member of North Morton Baptist Church in Morton, MS. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and was an Alabama Crimson Tide and New Orleans Saints fan. Mr. Purvis had retired with La-Z-Boy after forty-three years of service. 

Mr. Purvis was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Eliza Purvis; his two sisters, Winnie Thornton and Dorothy Sanders and his brother, Mack Purvis. He is survived by his wife, Omega Purvis of Morton, MS; his son Ricky Purvis (Diane) of Pelahatchie, MS and his granddaughter, Ally Purvis.
