He was a dedicated member of Lula Baptist Church in Jackson, a community that he cherished and actively participated in throughout his life. There will be no services at this time.

Jimmie was a man of many passions. He had a profound love for nature, particularly hummingbirds, which symbolized his gentle spirit and appreciation for beauty. Additionally, Jimmie found joy in hunting and fishing, activities that allowed him to connect with the outdoors and create lasting memories with family and friends.

Throughout his life, Jimmie worked tirelessly to support his family. His commitment to his loved ones was unwavering, and he cherished the time he spent with them. Jimmie’s love for his wife, Mable Garrett, was at the heart of everything he did, reflecting the deep bond they shared.

In his youth, Jimmie served his country honorably, being stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. This experience shaped him into the dedicated individual he became, instilling values of service and sacrifice that he carried with him throughout his life.

Jimmie will be remembered by his two sons, David Brewer and his wife Iris, and Mitch Brewer, as well as his two sisters, Carolyn Culpepper and Ann Breland. He was a proud grandfather to three grandchildren, who were a source of great joy in his life.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mable Garrett, and his parents, Valley Will and Agnes Garrett, his son, Alex Garrett, along with his three sisters, Mae Delores Marcum, Rita Faye Garrett, and Ruby Geraldine Reid, and his brother, Kenneth Garrett.

Jimmie Ray Garrett leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and respect for family and community. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
