Joe D Hughes

Joe D. Hughes, age 79, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at Neshoba General Hospital in Philadelphia, MS.  A Memorial Services will be held at a later Date. 

Joe was born to James Otho Hughes and Ola Wiggins on August 2, 1944, in Scott County, MS.  He was a lifelong resident of Polkville, MS.  Joe was a member of First Baptist Church of Polkville.  He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish.  Joe loved all of his family, especially his grandchildren.  

Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Otho and Ola Hughes and his brother, Larry Hughes.  He is survived by his son, Rhesie Hughes (Stacey) of Homewood, MS; his two daughters, Carla Walker of Danville, VA and Stacy Wells (Robbie) of Pass Christan, MS and his adopted son, James Hughes (Marie) of, Philadelphia, MS; his eight grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
