Bennie Qualls Kemp was born April 25, 1955, in Morton, Mississippi, the middle child of Fred and Annie Laster Qualls, who preceded her in death. She was a 1973 graduate of Morton High School and attended Alcorn State University.
Bennie was an active member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church until her health failed at which time she went to live with her daughter where she departed this life in LaGrange, Georgia. She served as Sunday School Teacher, Choir Member and Home Mission. She also retired from Scott County Schools after more than 30 years of service.
In 1976 Bennie Kemp was united in holy matrimony to Billy Rhodes. Two children were born of this union; Seddrick (Andrelesa) Rhodes, New Port News, VA and Aniedra Rhodes (Edward) McFarland, LaGrange, GA. She later married Willie Kemp and gained an additional daughter, Michelle (Nathaniel) Sharpe, Hogansville, GA.
Bennie is preceded in death by her husband, Willie James Kemp, Grandparents; Johnny Ward, Mandy Stingley Qualls, Ben (Wilma) Laster, Callie (L.T.) Blackwell and Ruby Bennett (Mother-in-Law).
Bennie Kemp is also survived by eight grandchildren; Seddricka, Jermiah, Aubre, Aniyah, Edward, Kaoni, Cameryn, Kingston, and one great-grandchild Madison. She also leaves to mourn four brothers; Reverend Freddie (Bobbie) Qualls, Reverend Johnny (Betty) Qualls, Odell and C.W. Qualls, one sister; Armer (Ralph) Moore, one aunt Margaret (Charles) Posey and one uncle Charles (Onedia) Laster. She also leaves sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Curtis, Brenda, Linda, Harold, Mary and Wayne and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery on Saturday December 5, 2020 from 12:00PM until 1:00PM with a graveside service to follow. Pastor Marcus McDougle and Reverend Willie Jones will officiate. Services entrusted to Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS.
