Conehatta

It is with heavy hearts that we gather to honor the life of Kimbra Lee Griffin, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who departed this world on April 11, 2025, in Meridian, Mississippi. Born on October 11, 1962, in Newton, Mississippi, Kimbra lived a vibrant life filled with love, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to those she cherished.

Kimbra's educational journey culminated in a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, leading her to become a Registered Nurse and Certified Critical Care Nurse (RN/CCRN). Her dedication to her profession was matched only by her devotion to the patients under her care. She approached each day with a gentle spirit, ensuring that those around her felt cared for and seen.

Beyond her professional life, Kimbra possessed an adventurous soul with a passion for travel. She cherished the sunlit days spent on the beach, the joyful anticipation of cruises, and the vibrant culture and culinary delights of New Orleans. These happy memories reflect the zest for life that she carried within her, always making room for laughter and celebration in the lives of her loved ones.

Kimbra was deeply devoted to her family. She is survived by her beloved husband, Edward Griffin, and her mother, Charlotte Stamper. As a proud mother, she leaves behind her sons, Albert Jerry Lawson and his wife Dana, Jody Lawson, Aaron Lawson, and Anthony Lawson with his wife Gabrielle. Each of her five precious grandchildren knew her as a constant source of warmth and joy, cherishing the moments spent together, creating memories that will live on in their hearts.

In the embrace of family, Kimbra welcomed her niece, Ella, with open arms, showering her with love and support. Her dedication as a caregiver was evident in how she embraced the responsibilities of nurturing others with grace and tenderness.

Her siblings, Neil Cochran and his wife Lanae, and Elizabeth Rash also treasure the memories they shared together, as does her wider circle of friends, who will forever remember her as a beacon of kindness and strength.

Though Kimbra is preceded in death by her father, Prentiss Cochran, and her step-father, Jerry Quotes, along with her niece, Callie-Rae Rash, her legacy lives on through the love she showed and the lives she touched. Her message of compassion resonates in the hearts of all who knew her.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Hickory Baptist Church, located at 139 Jackson Street, Hickory, MS 39332. A visitation will be held on April 15, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM, followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 PM. Let us gather to celebrate the life of Kimbra Lee Griffin—not just in mourning her absence, but in rejoicing the beautiful spirit she was.
