Larry Earl Bowie

Larry Earl Bowie, age 69, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. His visitation will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024, from 12:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS, and Saturday, December 28, 2024, from 12:00 PM until 12:45 PM at Mt. Zion M. B. Church in Ludlow, MS. His Services will take place at 1:00 PM with burial following at Mt. Zion M. B. Cemetery in Ludlow, MS. Rev. George McBound, Rev. Kenny Davis, Rev. Jeff Stingley, and Rev. Melvin Lyles will officiate under the direction of Wolf Funeral Services. 

Larry Earl Bowie was born on June 12, 1955, in Carthage, MS to Myrtle F. Bowie and the late Tebbie Bowie. 

He graduated from Morton High School in Scott County. Larry devoted his life to Christ at an early age at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Ludlow, MS.

Larry started his job career after graduating from Morton High School to work at B. C. Rogers now which is Koch Food of Morton, MS. He retired from Koch Food after forty-nine years. 

Larry was married to Dorothy Smith Bowie of Morton, MS. In this union, they shared six children together, Shun Black of Canton, MS; Larry Bowie, Jr. (Amanda) of Jackson, MS; Ashford N. Smith of Morton, MS; Brittany F. Cameron, of Morton, MS; Charnese J. Cameron of Jackson, MS, and Charles E. Cameron of West Palm Beach, FL.; thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. 

Larry had seven siblings three preceded him in death Katy Bowie, Helen Bowie-Parker, and Oneal Bowie leaving four to forever to remember him Ruthie Mae Bowie, Marie Bowie-Honeysucker, Billy Ray Bowie, and Beverly Bowie all of Ludlow, MS, and a special niece, Angela Bowie Brown (Richard) of Lena, MS and a large host of nieces and nephews.
