Latasha Michelle, affectionately known as "Tasha," was born on February 27, 1980, in Forest, Mississippi. She departed this life on April 16, 2025, in Union, Mississippi, leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience.
Latasha was a lifelong resident of Scott County, Mississippi, where she embraced the joys of life. She found happiness in weekend getaways and cherished personal time, reflecting her appreciation for the moments that matter. A devoted grandmother, Latasha was particularly crazy about her grandchildren, Rose Holmes and Rip Holmes, often prioritizing their happiness and well-being above all else. Her strong personality and willingness to speak her mind made her a memorable presence in the lives of those around her.
Latasha is survived by her loving mother, Betty Derrick; her four sons, Jessie Lee Holmes, Jerry Michael Holmes (Tara), Dakota Wayne Holmes (Heather), and Paul Wesley Watkins; her sister, Rebecca Watkins; her niece, Tanasha Jolly; and her nephew, Isaiah West, and her grandchildren, Rose Holmes and Rip Holmes, Her family will forever hold dear the warm memories and the indelible mark she left on their hearts.
Latasha was preceded in death by her father, Micheal Watkins; two grandchildren, Jessie Ray Holmes and Elizabeth Ruth Holmes; her grandmother, Ruby Lanthrip; and her two great-grandfathers, Rich Watkins and Eugene Derrick.
Her memory will continue to live on through the love she shared and the lives she touched throughout her years. Latasha Michelle Watkins will be remembered not only for her spirited nature but also for her devotion to her family and the joy she brought into their lives. Her arrangements are incomplete at this time.
