Laverne M. Davis, age 73, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at UMMC in Jackson, MS. Her visitation will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Pleasant Hill M. B. Church in Morton, MS and Sunday, October 27, 2024, from 12:00 PM until 12:45 PM at Scott County M. B. District Building in Morton, MS. Her services will take place at 1:00 PM at Scott County M. B. District Building in Morton, MS. Her burial will follow at Pleasant Hill M. B. Cemetery in Morton, MS. Rev. Marcus McDougle will officiate under the direction of Wolf Funeral Services. 

Laverne was born to Ruben McDougle and Ethel Norris on October 1, 1951, in Morton, MS. She was a member of Pleasant Hill M. B. Church in Morton, MS. Laverne was preceded in death by her husband, Cleveland Davis, Jr.; her parents, Ruben and Ethel McDougle and her sister, Carrie Mae Beason. She is survived by her two daughters, Roshelle Rene McDougle of Morton, MS and Latorreia Davis-White (Christopher) of Morton, MS; her four bonus children, Jacqueline Agee of Morton, MS, Joyce Braithwaite of Chicago, IL, Aries Agee of Hattiesburg, MS and Koby Canady of Jacksonville, FL; her brother, Joe McDougle (Jacqueline) of Morton, MS; her two grandchildren, Aerian Keeton of Morton, MS and A’Dontay Williams of Morton, MS.
