Bill Rex Lindsey, age 90, passed away on Friday February 26, 2016 at the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Kosciusko, MS. Visitation was held on Saturday February 27, 2016 from 5:30PM until 9:00PM at Eureka Baptist Church in Lena, MS. Funeral Services were held on Sunday February 28, 2016 at 2:00PM at Eureka Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Officiating was Bro. Ted Weeks and Bro. Rick Brown. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS was in charge of the arrangements.
Bill Rex had lived in the Branch and Morton Community all of his life. He was a member of the Line Prairie Church in Morton, MS. He was a member of the Plain Lodge #662 in Richland, MS. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved to work in his garden. He also loved his family and friends very much. He was a World War II Army Veteran where he served his country proudly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Wesley and Hettie Bell Lindsey; brothers, John Ross Lindsey, Levelle Lindsey, and James A. Lindsey; sister, Opel Davis; niece, Mitzi Beavers; nephews, Kim Lindsey, Clyde Lindsey, and Brent Lindsey. He is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Torrence (Rodney) of Ludlow, MS and Cleo Jones (Jerry) of Leesburg, MS; four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Chuck Edwards, P.W. Meek, Tyler Berry, Carl Martin, Brad Lindsey, and Stacy Stegall. Honorary Pallbearers were Peter Paul Boxx, Jimmy Measels, Roy Garcia, and Don Hammons.
