Robert Darrell Long, 62, a resident of Florence passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at University Medical Center, Jackson, MS. Visitation was held at Wolf Funeral Services Friday, July 01, 2011 from 2:00 until 3:00 pm. A memorial graveside service will be held at a later date at Cox Cemetery in Mercury, TX. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Long had lived in Florence for the past two years moving from Odessa, TX and he was of the Baptist faith. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish and shoot pistols.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Jo Hartman. He is survived by his wife, Betty Long of Florence, MS; his father, Hollis Hartman of Nolanville, TX; one son, Timothy Long of Brownwood, TX; two step-Daughters, Sherry Pruitt of Odessa, TX; Debbie Ainsworth of Braxton, MS; one step-son, Thomas Martin of Florence, MS; four sisters, Margaret Nolan of Nolanville, TX; Joelann Weaver of Morgans Point, TX; Holly Kennan of Warrenville, SC; Della Reeves of Odessa, TX; 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
